THE PROCEDURE
Small incisions are made in the natural creases or folds of the eyelids. Sagging skin and excess fat tissue is removed. Then, the eyelid muscles are tempered. At the end of the surgery, the incisions are closed with sutures.
RECOMMENDATIONS
During the first two to three weeks after the surgery, it is recommended to wear sunglasses to prevent irritation that can be caused by intense light or wind. In general, after eight days after the surgery you can lead a normal life.
RESULTS
After the surgery, you may experience some discomfort, as some swelling and tenderness in the eye area, but this is perfectly normal and is only temporary. You can return to work after about a week, and make-up can be applied after the stitches have been removed and when the swelling has subsided.
Your vision will not be affected by this operation, since the procedure only involves the tissues surrounding the eye.
The youthful, more alert, look can last for years and these results may be permanent for some patients.
COMPLICATIONS
With Blepharoplasty the most common complication can be an Edema or Palpebral (Eyelid) Ecchymosis, therefore there may be bleeding during the during the immediate postoperative period. To avoid this one must maintain their eyes bandaged through 24 or 48 hours.
