THE PROCEDURE

Cruroplasty, also called a thigh lift, is a surgical procedure which is performed through incisions in the inner thigh near the groin or in the gluteal fold. The number of incisions are proportional to the amount of excess skin.

This procedure is usually performed under regional anesthesia (spinal or epidural) and lasts 2 to 3 hours.

The patient will be hospitalized for 48 hours with drainage tubes. At the time of discharge, it is possible that the patient will be sent home with the draining tubes an additional 24 to 48 hours, occasionally compression bandages are sufficient.

RECOMMENDATIONS

While the cruroplasty helps eliminate and correct the volume of legs and thighs it is not a treatment for overweight.

RESULTS

You can return to your daily activities without undue stress after one week. Most of your discomfort will be treated with medication. Rare skin sensations and swelling will decrease in about three weeks.

The stitches will be removed in approximately two weeks after the procedure. But the leg will take a few more weeks to fully recover its normal appearance.
